7 DIY Home Decor Ideas to give your space a Rustic Look

Home is where the wifi connects automatically. And a home is where the amateur interior designer in you comes to life. You spend some money, call the experts and then spend some more money. Even after doing so many efforts, it is not necessary that you’ll like the new face of your home.

Have you ever paid heed to the things which are of no use now? Have you ever given a thought about what all could be done with the old and existing stuff in your store room? That’s why we are here! We are gonna tell you 7 super easy DIY ideas that would give your personal space a rustic look.

Things you will need:

  • Photo frame
  • Hooks

  • Paint brush

First, remove the backing from the frame. Paint the frame in any colour you like and let it dry for 30 minutes. Simply screw in the hooks and let it display.

Drawer Shelves

There is always a cabinet which is no more in use but we are too lazy to throw it away. It is now stuffed with the most random collection of useless stuff. All you have to do is, remove the base of the drawer, paint it with a new colour (if need be) and hang it with nails on your favourite wall. Showcase books, antiques, photo frames or whatever fancies your creativity.

Cup Hanger

The old wooden piece can be a great tool for home decor. All you need is a wooden piece, a coat of termite proof spray and some hooks. Your hanger is ready! You can hang cups, keys & chains, clothes and probably anything. It is the most inexpensive way to jazz up your home.

Things you will need:

  • Some balloons
  • Twine/hemp/cotton yarn
  • White glue
  • Cornstarch
  • Warm Water
  • Petroleum jelly
  • Twinkle lights

It starts with blowing air into the balloons to a desired size . Put some glue, cornstarch & warm water and mix it until the lumps are gone. Cover the balloons in petroleum jelly. Dip the twine/yarn in the mixture and start draping it around the balloons. Wrap it both vertically and horizontally. Allow the balloons to dry for 24 hours and pop them. Boom!

Another fantastic way of utilising drawer from the old cabinet is to turn it into a foot rest. Spray two coats of spray paint of any colour onto the drawer. Add four low height legs using wooden blocks and nails. Lastly, apply the cushion padding for the final touch. Your in-house foot rest is ready!

Mason Jars Antiques

We all have mason jars at home stuffed with pickle, jam and perhaps sandwich spread. You will require a wooden slab, clamps, mason jar and some nails. Take the wooden slab and cut it into a rectangular shape. Place the clamp around the neck of the mason jar and fix it using nails. Hang the set on the wall and decorate it with flowers, plants, stationery or spoons.

Wooden Welcome Bundle

Things you will need:

  • Wooden slices
  • A Drill machine
  • Floral wire
  • Sand Paper
  • Acrylic paint & paint brush

To start with the welcome bundle, drill holes in each slice (depending on the letters of the word). Sand the slices with sandpaper to smoothen their faces and edges. Using the paint brush, write the message you want to display at the entrance of the house. Now, thread the slices with floral wire. Tie a double knot and then take a double length of the wire to tie it at the ends.

Are you change ready?
