The fort is majestic and covers an astounding 60, 702 square meters and is known for its architecture by French craftsmen. ‘Kota maidanam’ is a large ground area in the Fort which is now used for organising cricket contests, exhibitions and other public events. Rappadi is an open-air auditorium which is present in the fort premises. Hanuman temple, a garden, a shrine and a sub jail are other attractions of the fort.
