Amazon rebrands itself from ‘Amazon Now’ to ‘Prime Now’ and has invested in chill chain for products like fresh fruits, vegetables and dairy. India’s giant E-commerce website Amazon pulls their socks up to ramp up selection for grocery on its platform. It focuses on faster delivery to consolidate its position against rivals like Big Basket and Grofers. As of now, Prime Now is an app-service only that functions in Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi and Hyderabad. Amazon India Head, Siddharth Nambiar said,” We have invested in customized infrastructure of fulfilment centers (FC) for faster deliveries and chill chains to maintain temperatures at optimum conditions for leafy products and dairy products like curd and paneer,”. Prime users will get express two-hour delivery between 6 AM till midnight. For others, same-day and next-day delivery options are available in different two-hour slots.
