In talks of acquiring one of the leading healthcare companies – MedPlus, Amazon will soon be seen tapping into the Indian healthcare market. According to the reports, both the companies are in the preliminary stage of the deal. Though, Amazon has already ventured into the pharmaceutical market by acquiring the pharmacy startup PillPack for $1Billion, the sources revealed that the e-commerce giant is eyeing another pharma company (name not disclosed yet) apart from MedPlus. A renowned Harvard surgeon and writer Atul Gawande has also been hired by Amazon as the Chief Executive for its healthcare joint venture with JPMorgan and Berkshire Hathaway.
