The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has signed a MoU with Yatra and BookMyShow with an aim to enable tourists and visitors to book online tickets for 141 historical monuments.
The move will give a push to Government of India’s Digital India initiative. This will also enable digitization of ASI’s platter of services. Also, Yatra has claimed that the online booking facility would not entail any additional cost to a customer.
Besides the online booking services, Yatra plans to offer a plethora of related services and information pertaining to sightseeing. The travel portal also intends to extend its platform for endorsing cultural heritage.
According to Karan Arora, general manager, business development at BookMyShow, the usage of e-ticketing would be bolstered with this MoU given BookMyShow’s reach, fool proof payment systems and innovations such as m-ticket in the online booking arena.
