What is Bhringraj ?
Bhringraj is a species of the sunflower family. Its commonly also known as false daisy( Eclipta prostrata). It typically grows in moist areas with warm and tropical temperatures. Bhringraj is popular all over the world and is also mentioned in Ayurveda. The plant is known for its medicinal properties and is used as an applied oil and even in various cosmetic items. Bhringraj, when used as a hair oil is known to strengthen hair, delay greying and give shiny and smooth hair.
Treats Skin Diseases
Minor skin diseases can be treated with Bhringraj because of its antibacterial properties. It is effective for cracked heels and skin allergies.
Bhringraj works as a pain (toothache and stomach pain) and sting relief for scorpion bites. Apply it on the affected area and leave it for 12 hours. Depending upon the severity, you may apply it three times a day.
Treats Water-Borne Diseases
Low doses of Bhringraj are said to treat jaundice, cholera, diabetes and control high blood pressure. It can be taken with curd, black pepper, honey or some sugar.
Controls Blood Pressure
Bhringraj is known to control hypertension or blood pressure in your body. Have 2 teaspoon of Bhringraj juice and add 1 teaspoon of honey twice a day to regulate blood pressure in your body.
Aids in the Treatment of Eye Disorders
Bhringraj helps improve your eyesight when taken regularly in small doses twice a day. You can put 2 drops of Bhringraj juice in your eyes before going to sleep. It can cure eye swelling and eye pain caused due to long working hours.
