BigBasket, the Indian online grocery store has recently begun to cater to customers in Kerala. Hari Menon, co-founder, and CEO of BigBasket said that a collection centre would be established close to Kochi that would collect fresh produce for the local market.
Customers in Kochi will now be able to order groceries online through BigBasket app or website. With the launch of its services in Kochi, BigBasket has now footprints in over 26 cities in India.
Menon is quite optimistic about BigBasket’s foray into the Kochi market. He also stated that Kochi is a promising high growth market and BigBasket is excited to start catering its services to customers in Kochi.
BigBasket intends to achieve 100 % growth (Rs 7000 crore) in fiscal 2020. The company is looking forward to private labels to contribute towards 40% of its growth, which currently stands at 34%.
