India’s largest online supermarket BigBasket said that 18% of its turnover is through the sales of fresh fruits and vegetables. 70% of the produce is directly bought from Indian Farmers through their Farmer Connect Programme. The company says that they have always centered around its customers. The F&V giant is currently working to improve its technology so as to improve traceability and visibility among customers. Bigbasket started its operations in the year 2011 and now it has set up over 25 collection centers across the country to source over 5000 tonnes of produce.
