We know we can never have enough of our Bollywood stars who give us respite from our daily grind with their hugely entertaining films and incomparable acting chops. So, when our stars come out with other talents, we welcome them and cheer them on with all our might.
Recently, Parineeti Chopra sang ‘Maana Ki Hume Pyaar Nahi’ for Meri Pyaari Bindu and earned huge public acclaim on social media. Looks like the Chopra sisters are blessed with the voice of angels.
Here are 5 more stars who turned singers and serenaded us with their harmonious voice.
Priyanka Chopra
The absolute pride of the nation had to come right on top of our list. The premier showcasing of her singing talents was a single line sung in Bluffmaster’s ‘Right Here, Right Now’ back in 2005. She went on to record with top international musicians Pitbull (Exotic) and Will.I.Am (In My City). She also sang the title track for Dil Dhadakne Do and a soothing lullaby ‘Chaoro’ for Mary Kom.
Salman Khan
Now, whatever Bhai does, we love. He had us dancing to the tunes of ‘Hangover’ that he recorded for Kick. For the film Hero, he recorded romantic track ‘Main Hoon Hero Tera’ which received high acclaim and put Salman on the multi-talented actors list. He also recorded an unreleased song for Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Alia Bhatt
The youngest sensation of Bollywood surprised everyone with her soulful voice when she recorded ‘Sooha Saha’ for her romantic drama Highway. She went on to lend her voice for Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania through the dreamy love song ‘Samjhawan’. She also sang the alternate version on Diljit Dosanjh’s ‘Ikk Kudi’ for Udta Punjab and the title track of Love You Zindagi.
Shraddha Kapoor
After blowing us away with ‘Teri Galliyaan’ in Ek Villain, Shraddha Kapoor established that her singing chops were at par if not better than her acting skills. She did it again with ‘Bezubaan Firr Se’ for ABCD 2 and ‘Sab Tera’ for Baaghi. She was then signed for Rock On 2 wherein she sang multiple tracks in tandem with co-star Farhan Akhtar, who is up next on our list.
Farhan Akhtar
Farhan Akhtar has turned out to be nothing less than an all-rounder. Directing, producing, singing and acting, all are areas that Akhtar excels in. He has recorded multiple songs for his films including Rock On, Dil Dhadakne Do, Luck By Chance, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara, Rock On 2 and Wazir.
His song in Wazir, ‘Atrangi Yaari’ was a duet with Amitabh Bachchan who happens to have sung a lot of his own songs as well. ‘Rang Barse’ ring a bell?
Now, actors including Richa Chaddha, Amy Jackson and Anushka Sharma are set to turn singers and we cannot wait. We’re all ears, guys!
