The State-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is rolling out unlimited voice calling for its fibre and broadband tariff customers effective from June 1. This move is set to augment BSNL’s already active free night calling across BSNL networks in India.
The new plans can be availed by fibre internet customers as well as those customers who have subscribed to broadband tariff plans between Rs 249 and Rs 645. These customers can only get unlimited voice calling to other BSNL customers across India. Yet, the unlimited night calling will be free for any network across India. Plans above the Rs 645 bracket entail unlimited voice calling across all networks in India at all times. Similar plans can be availed by BSNL’s fibre broadband customers.
BSNL is wary of Reliance Jio opening its fibre broadband network to the public soon. Jio Fiber is anticipated to offer 100 GB data on a monthly basis at 100 Mbps. Many customers may opt for the switch to Jio given its history of competitive pricing.
