Dell Banks on Consumer Segment To Push PC Sales in India

Dell is looking forward to a bright future for its PC business in India. This sentiment can be attributed to a positive business ambiance and increased consumer spend. Also, the popularity of online video screening services offered by players like Netflix, Hotstar and Amazon Prime is serving as a catalyst for this rise in demand.

The last two quarters are seeing customisation of entertainment with the laptop emerging as the preferred medium to view shows through such podiums. Also, the increased battery life and enhanced screen resolution are seeing a surge in demand for laptops.

This has spurred a strong demand for PCs in top tier cities wherein users are seen replacing their old notebooks with newer and better versions.

Also, with the GST now in place, commerce students besides science students are now buying PCs to learn accounting software.

As part of its future growth strategy, Dell is planning to increase its exclusive store count to 800 from the present 670 stores by the end of the present fiscal.
