Emirates has decided to launch the world’s shortest flight on the double-decker Airbus A380 which is deemed as the world’s biggest commercial plane. Two daily A380 flights will take to the skies on July 1 and fly between Dubai and Muscat, the shortest distance to be covered by any flight so far.
With these new flights, Emirates would break its own record of operating the world’s shortest scheduled A380 service between Dubai and Doha, covering a distance of 379 km. But, as of now, this service is suspended owing to a diplomatic row between Qatar and the UAE.
According to Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates’ Commercial Operations Centre, more Emirates customers will now have the opportunity to experience Emirates products onboard which will lead to varied selections as well as enhanced choice preferences as these customers plan their journeys.
