Analyzing the growing success of Flipkart India Private Limited, a Flipkart Subsidiary that runs the wholesale business, Walmart considers it as an operational jewel, owing to the Flipkart-Walmart deal. Contributing a whopping 74.6 percent of the entire Flipkart Group’s revenue as compared to Flipkart’s other subsidiaries like Myntra Designs, Instakart and PhonePe, Flipkart India Pvt. Ltd. has added another feather in its cap. The table shows that Flipkart’s wholesale arm has incurred a loss of just Rs. 244 crores on a revenue of Rs. 15.264 crore, while the marketplace business unit incurred a loss of Rs. 1639 crore against a revenue of Rs. 1882 crore. Even when the employee benefit expenses were considered, Flipkart India Pvt Ltd. took a share of just Rs. 166.6 crores out of all the others who saw the employee benefit expenses at Rs. 267.5 crore and Rs.1032 crore (Myntra Designs and Flipkart Internet respectively).
