Encashing on the wave of loyalty programs, Flipkart recently launched Flipkart Plus offering free delivery, exclusive access to sales programs as well as earning Plus Coin to be redeemed on third party platform. Flipkart launched Flipkart Plus on August 15, 2018. Within a span of just 5 days of its launch, Flipkart managed to garner about 1 million members and Rs 1,250 crore in revenue.

Flipkart Plus is a free membership. However, users are required to earn 50 coins by shopping for products worth Rs 12,500 on Flipkart to become subscribers.

Similarly, Flipkart’s rival Amazon launched Amazon Prime in 2016. Subscribers have to pay an annual fee of Rs 999 wherein they can enjoy free and fast deliveries as well as original video content.

Similarly, other e-commerce platforms like Zomato and Swiggy have launched programs like ‘Piggybank’ and ‘Swiggy Super’ respectively for online ordering.
