Schedules of food delivery executives showcase busy weekend dining patterns. Singletons and homemakers both like to savour some good food without having to worry about spending long hours cooking, queuing up for tables or fighting traffic to reach their favourite restaurant. Various food delivery apps have proved to be hunger saviours in these cases. The demand is in fact so high that various restaurants have opened separate food pick-up windows for delivery executives, also keeping the crowd at bay. Mohit Gupta, the CEO of Zomato mentions that while major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad are growing fast, tier II and III cities are also very promising. Most app-based food delivery services like Swiggy, Uber Eats and Zomato begin delivery services from weekend mornings, especially on Sundays. A statement made by Swiggy in Hyderabad, mentioned that they’ve seen a consistent increase in number of daily orders with a 32% increase on weekends.
