Objective of Texas Hold’em Poker
The objective of Texas Hold’em is to make the best 5 card poker hand possible, using any combination of a player’s two hole cards they have and the 5 community cards that are displayed on the board turn by turn and win.
Beginning Texas Hold’em Poker
The game begins with each player having 2 cards, face down, known as ‘hole cards’, followed by a round of betting. The betting starts with a small blind (person sitting to the left of the dealer) followed by the big blind (person to the left of small blind). The gameplay begins in the clockwise direction, starting from the two forced bets – the blinds; and thereafter each player has an option to raise, fold or call their hand at the game.
The next 3 cards are placed face up in the middle of the table. This is called the “Flop”. Another round of betting follows, starting from the first blind. A new card, the fourth one is displayed face up and is called the “Turn”, followed by one more round of betting that begins to the dealer’s left. Towards the end, the fifth & final card known as the “River” is placed, followed by the last round of betting known as the ‘Showdown’.
Texas Hold’em Poker concludes when every player reveals their cards in turns and the player who owns the best 5 cards at handmade with any possible combination of the 7 cards – 5 community cards and 2 hole cards.
Super-Poker Tip: The player can use both, one or none of their hole cards to bring out their best move.
