Jet Airways has recently made a change in their luggage policy restricting the number of bags a passenger can check in. Economy class passengers will now have to pay an extra amount of Rs 400 – 500 for excess weight above 15 kilograms. Passengers taking a domestic flight will have to shell out Rs. 3,999 for checking-in a second bag from July 15, which will be revised according to market conditions and commercial requirements. A business class passenger can however, carry two bags not exceeding 15 kgs each. This change in policy has made Jet Airways the first domestic airline to move to a single bag policy for economy class.  This policy has been adopted to boost cargo revenue and quicker turn-around flights.
