Online travel firm Makemytrip today revealed that it has invested an undisclosed amount in Bengaluru based Bitla software. Bitla software is a travel focused technology provider and its clients include online ticketing portals, hoteliers, holiday tour operators and cargo and logistics companies.

“As clear market leaders in India’s online travel for air ticketing, hotel reservations and bus bookings, we look to foster faster innovations in order to accelerate growth in these travel segments,” said Deep Kalra, MakeMyTrip Chairman and Group CEO.

Their latest investment in Bitla Software is aimed at providing an extensive suite of technology products and solutions for the bus and hotel supplier ecosystem.

This is the sixth investment of MakeMyTrip in the technology space. Previously the company had merged with Ibibo and a few other companies like HolidayIQ, Mygola etc. MMT, which is listed on Nasdaq, said that in order to accelerate growth, the company has been spending significantly on customer inducement and acquisition.
