MakeMyTrip & Yatra Plans to Optimize Promotional Costs


MakeMyTrip and Yatra are the country’s biggest online travel companies. They have used millions of rupees in trying to expand their customer base and an online market. Now, they are looking forward to optimizing their promotional expenses on the same. It is said that both of the online travel giants have experienced a reduction of losses in the quarter of April to June. MakeMyTrip has seen a reduction of 37% in its operating loss which has gone down to $32million from $52.3 million in the corresponding year. The Chief Financial Officer confirmed that the company’s first quarter performance was driven by increased effectiveness of customer retention programmes and continued optimisation of promotional expenses.
