Microsoft Partners with Sony for Cloud Gaming Service | CashKaro News Network

Microsoft has collaborated with Sony for future cloud game streaming services. But Microsoft and Sony would continue to independently operate services for customers of Xbox and PlayStation respectively.

Sony has asked support from Microsoft for their Azure services as Sony lacks cloud computing, which is an integral feature of Azure services. On the contrary, Microsoft’s Azure allows first and third-party developers to display their exclusive services via Microsoft’s data centres worldwide. However, Sony’s PS4 Remote Play can support limited devices that can be viewed via the user’s PlayStation Console. PlayStation can stream to PC and PlayStation as of now.

Many have speculated that the cloud-based service would eliminate the need for hardware like the console or PC. However, Sony has assured that the PlayStation is here to stay.
