It’s been quite a while since there was a budget phone release from Motorola. There have been a few high-profile releases in the mid-range segment but not any in the budget range. The E-series which enabled Motorola to come out of nowhere to capture the smartphone market in 2014 is waiting for a revival.
And if news from a few reliable sources is to be believed, Motorola is looking for a revival in the budget segment again!
Motorola is redesigning its E-series with a powerful addition to the ranks – the Moto E3 Power!
A Flipkart exclusive device (releasing on September 19), #ThePow3r is expected to be packed with features and come at a budget price point. But can it deliver the knockout punch for Motorola once again?
Here’s what you can expect from the upcoming budget powerhouse from Motorola.
Moto E3 Power – Specifications
The Moto E3 Power will be powered by a Quad-core 1GHz MediaTek MT6735P processor and come with 2GB of RAM. The budget device will sport a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 720p and run on Android v6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. The internal storage on the phone will be 16GB which can be expanded to an additional 32GB using a microSD card.
The Moto E3 Power will have an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, LTE and microUSB v2.0. A 3,500mAh non-removable battery also comes with it.
The price point that Moto E3 Power is expected to release will be all that matters. According to reports, a Rs 7,000 price tag is realistic. However, no clear confirmation on pricing is available and if the tag is kept under 8k, the E3 Power has a good chance of making the cut.
Here’s how it stacks up against a few competitors in the under 8k league.
Moto E3 Power Vs Coolpad Note 3 Lite
The Moto E3 Power has better battery capacity and a slightly better chipset (MediaTek MT6735P) than its competitor. Meanwhile, Coolpad Note 3 Lite has the advantage of a bigger RAM (3GB) and better camera (13MP rear camera).
Nevertheless, Moto E3 Power is expected to make the most of its better build, durability and reliability to score over Coolpad Note 3 Lite.
Moto E3 Power Vs Xiaomi Redmi 3S
The Moto E3 Power taking on Xiaomi Redmi 3S will be an interesting battle. Both the phones are yet to be released and will have a head-on collision in the budget phones segment.
Motorola will be up against a feature-rich Xiaomi phone in the under 8k range. The Xiaomi Redmi 3S has the advantage of a dual Quad-Core processor, a bigger battery (4100mAh) and a better camera (13MP rear). Added to this, the Redmi 3S will be available for just Rs 6,999. Moto E3 Power will have to get the pricing right to match up to Redmi 3S in this budget phone battle. Both the devices will be available #OnlyOnFlipkart.
Moto E3 Power Vs Lenovo Vibe P1m
A more realistic competitor for Moto E3 Power will be the Lenovo Vibe P1m which comes with nearly the same spec sheet as the Moto phone but packs a better battery. However, the Moto E3 Power with its latest hardware and software upgrades is expected to outperform the Vibe P1m.
