Riding high on Jio’s success, Mukesh Ambani has become Asia’s richest man surpassing Alibaba founder Jack Ma. He added $4 billion to his wealth in 2018 as Reliance Industries crossed $100 billion in market capitalization on the BSE. Reliance shares saw a growth of 1.8 percent reaching Rs. 1,106 while Jack Ma on the other hand, saw a dip in his shares of more than 10 percent in only a month. Reliance has already taken the mobile business by storm and has now introduced fixed line broadband services by the name of Jio GigaFiber. The company also aims to enter the home automation space with Jio Smart Home Accessories Suite. Earlier in April 2018, Mukesh Ambani made it to the Fortune 50 Greatest Leaders List and was ranked 24 for bringing “mobile data to the masses” and “completely upending the country’s telecom market”.
