Amitabh Bachchan, Bollywood’s “angry young man” is an Indian film actor, producer, television host and former politician. He is also referred to as the Shahenshah of Bollywood, Star of the Millennium or Big B after giving iconic performances in over 190 films. His dominance in the Indian film industry was so huge in the 70’s and 80’s that a French director Francois Truffaut called him a “one-man industry”. He has won several awards in his cinematic career and also been awarded with the Padma Shree, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan for his contributions. Not only has he been honoured with awards from India, he has also been awarded with the Knight of the Legion of Honour by the Government of France. His magnetic voice has been lent to various songs, donning an overall personality that can never be compared.
His early movie career was lined with twelve flops and only two moderate hits which changed with the release of Zanjeer in 1973. In 2018, he was seen in two movies, Pad Man (in a special appearance) and 102 Not Out with Rishi Kapoor. Thugs of Hindostan, Brahmastra, Shoebite, Nastik (guest appearance), Ghoomketu and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy (both in cameo appearances) are awaited releases of 2018 and 2019.
