Nokia, the once-dominant mobile phone manufacturing giant is making a comeback with Android smartphones in 2017.
Nokia was and is one of the best-selling brands in the feature segment of mobile phones. However, the company lost its aura when smartphones debuted and it found the transition really hard to make.
Nokia’s association with Microsoft to release Windows phones did not work out well and it had to be acquired by Microsoft in 2014. Now, after a 3-year hiatus, Nokia is returning with a bang! The Finnish giant is ready to release Android phones starting 2017 and take the already intense smartphone war to new heights.
Here are 5 things to watch out for from Nokia (with Android) in 2017.
1. Nokia to Debut with 3 Smartphones Early 2017
Nokia will not launch just one smartphone. It has in its arsenal, three nearly-ready smartphones to be launched early in 2017. If rumors are to be believed, Nokia will launch Nokia C1, Nokia Pixel, and Nokia D1C smartphones in the mid-range segment. Expect Nokia mobile offers during the initial stages to gain back popularity and push customers to give Android phones from Nokia a try!
2. Nokia Launches Under HMD Global
The brand name ‘Nokia’ will be under HMD Global, a company led by Nokia veteran Arto Nummela. HMD has a slew of talents under its belts including Florian Seiche (President) who has previously worked at Seimens, HTC, and Orange.
3. Mobile World Congress 2017
All eyes will be on the Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona from 27th February to 2nd March. Nokia is expected to stun the world by making a comeback with Android beside it. A few videos of the phones expected to be released have already been leaked.
Here’s Nokia Pixel, an entry-level offering from the Finnish manufacturer.
4. More of Reliability and Durability
Nokia under HMD Global has released the statement that there will be no change in the core values of the mobile phone brand. The characteristics that defined Nokia mobiles are set to be in place even in the smartphone line-up. This means that one can expect more durability and reliability compared to fragile phones from other manufacturers. However, you can still get mobile accessories online at cheap prices to add an extra layer of safety and protection for Nokia smartphones.
5. There will be Feature Phones Too!
According to market research firm Strategy Analytics, one in every ten feature phone sold is a Nokia. The brand revival means there will be revival of the feature phones segment as well. It’s time we get ready and excited for more cool feature phones from Nokia.
Waiting excitedly for the big bang comeback from Nokia! 😀
