Qatar Airways has included Gatwick as another London gateway besides the Heathrow airport. The airline plans to operate 95 flights per week this summer with the introduction of this second airport. As per the schedule, 16 weekly departures to Gatwick and Manchester from Doha have been planned this summer.
The newly introduced twice daily Gatwick service would be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft having a capacity of 22 business class seats and 232 seats in economy. The frequency of flights to Gatwick will increase to 16 flights per week between June 15 and September 29.
Akbar Al Bake, Qatar Airways chief executive has stated, “Qatar Airways is delighted to be expanding its reach in both London and throughout the UK.
Stewart Wingate, Gatwick’s chief executive has quoted ““I am delighted to mark the start of this double daily service to Doha as Qatar Airways’ extensive route network offers passengers more choice of onward destinations, including those across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.”
