Recently, Reliance Retail has included more international brands to the online fashion portal, Ajio. This decision comes soon after the company began to withdraw its clothing, shoes and lifestyle collection from e-commerce stores like Amazon and Flipkart. Ajio has now introduced G Star, Fcuk, Guess, Hamleys, and various other brands under Gold category that was launched lately. The Gold section also comprises of luxury brands like Steve Madden, DC Shoes, Gas and Quicksilver.
Ajio currently has around 50 renowned brands listed on the platform including Diesel, Canali, Hugo Boss, Furla, Juicy Couture and Kate Spade. According to reports in Economic Times, ‘Eventually, all bridge-to-luxury brands sold by Reliance Brands will be hosted by Ajio Gold. It may not have pure luxury brands like Zegna or Armani.’ Reliance is also planning to launch its ‘new-commerce’ multi-channel retail play and will bring kiranas or small neighbourhood stores on board.
