Mexican food outlet, Taco Bell, is planning to launch 600 outlets in India in a period of 10 years. Recently, the company entered into a master franchise agreement with Burman Hospitality. As a part of the agreement, the company will hire nearly 20,000 employees for entry-level positions, restaurant management as well as store positions. Jobs in multiple outsourced functions across partner companies in functions like IT, finance, supply chain and maintenance will also be offered.
This contract will allow India to become the second largest market for Taco Bell, after the US. The parties expect the investment per store to be around Rs. 3 crores. Burman mentioned that this deal will allow the hospitality company to grant sub-franchise agreements to third parties. Apart from this, Taco Bell is also intending to instigate cloud kitchens in the domestic market.
