10. Mecca Masjid

Mecca Masjid is one of the largest mosques in the world. It is located just 100 m away from the historic Charminar. It took almost 80 years for its construction to get completed. In 1617, it was built by Sultan Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah, although the construction was completed in 1694 by the Mughal Emperor, Aurangzeb. Mosque has stunning interiors as well with Belgian crystal chandeliers, beautifully designed five arches on each side, verses from Quran on arches and doors.

9. Shri Jagannath Temple

A modern-day temple built by the local Oriya community. This spectacular temple is well constructed with an attractive Shikhara measuring 70 ft in height. It’s a true representation of the original, the construction in red sand stone is a visual marvel and is known for its annual Ratha Yatra.

This replica of the original in Puri with its statues of Lord Jagannath, and his siblings, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra draws devotees from around the world.

8. Snow World

7. Hussain Sagar Lake

Hussain Sagar Lake has been adorning the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad since 1562. It is one of the largest lakes in India. Hussain Sagar has got its name after famous Sufi saint Hussain Shah Wali. The main attraction of this place is 16 m high white granite statue of Lord Buddha with a weight of 350 tonnes, situated at the middle of the lake.

6. Salar Jung Museum

3. Birla Mandir

Birla Mandir is an enchanting modern temple built on a hillock of Kala Pahad. It is located on the south end of Hussain Sagar Lake. Constructed in 1976, it is believed to have taken close to 2000 tonnes of white marbles to build this stunning temple. The temple also houses consorts of Venkateshwara, Padmavati and Andal as well as has a separate shrine dedicated to Buddha.

2. Charminar

Also referred as the ‘Arc de Triomphe of the East’, Charminar is adorned with four towers in each corner. It was built by fifth sultan of Golkonda dynasty Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah in honour of his wife Bhagmati. Charminar has a small mosque as well on the top floor. The lighting here in the evening is glamorous and makes it a must visit place. Today, Charminar is a global icon and is listed among the most recognized structures of India.

Golconda fort, built on a 400 ft hill is situated 11 km away from the bustling urbanism of Hyderabad.
