Last year saw some amazing and innovative launches from various automobile manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Renault, Hyundai, and Honda. 2017 too is set to be an exciting year for car lovers as new, stylish and beastly cars are about the take over the roads.

1. Maruti Suzuki Ignis
The compact sub-crossover unveiled for the first time at the 2016 Auto Expo is all set to make many heads turn when it launches during the first quarter. Maruti Suzuki Ignis is ready to compete in the sub-4 meter SUV-styled cars segment which is dominated by Mahindra KUV100.
Maruti Suzuki Ignis features tall proportions and derives most of the design quotient from the Japanese release of the same car. There are SUV-like traits including flared wheel arches and an 180mm ground clearance. The car comes in both petrol and diesel variants. It comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox and will be available from April 2017.
Expected Price: ₹ 7 Lakh – ₹ 8.5 Lakh
2. Tata Hexa
All set to be the flagship model for Tata in 2017, Tata Hexa aims to replace Aria and create a new market for itself. Heavily reworked and stylishly better than Aria, Hexa comes with a honeycomb mesh front grille and cool new projector head-lamps.
The big people carrier mobile has a 2.2-litre diesel unit which gives 154bhp and 400Nm of torque which is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
It is expected to launch in the first month of 2017. Going by all the features, the price will be on par with other vehicles in the same class.

3. 2017 Jeep Compass
Jeep made its debut in India after a long time last year with two top of the line vehicles – Grand Cherokee and Wrangler. While not really in the affordable range, these vehicles gave the American automaker to test the Indian market.
Now, it is back with the 2017 Jeep Compass which promises to be a true game changer. The vehicle will be one of the most affordable SUV cars in India. It will be locally manufactured and come with 2.0-litre petrol and diesel mills. The transmission will have both manual and automatic units. 2017 Jeep Compass is expected to launch in late 2017.

4. Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS
One of the best hatchback cars in 2016, Maruti Suzuki Baleno is getting a makeover and ready to take on new competition in the New Year. Christened as the Baleno RS, it is one of the most anticipated cars of 2017. Though nothing much has changed in the appearance of the vehicle, major differences are under the hood.
The Baleno RS comes with a 1.0-litre BoosterJet with direct injection and a turbo petrol engine. The car is capable of churning out 112bhp with a peak torque of 175Nm. There are minimal chrome finishes and more of the black theme in the advanced Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS. The vehicle is all set to release in January this year.

5. Volkswagen Tiguan
The German automobile manufacturer, Volkswagen is really getting into the business of making cars for the Indian market. The Volkswagen Tiguan is one example of Volkswagen’s focus on cars for India. After the wide success of its Polo GT and other variants, the manufacturer is upping the ante by stepping into the SUV segment.
Slated for an early 2017 release, the Volkswagen Tiguan will launch in the premium SUV segment with a lot riding under its hood. The SUV will come with a 1968cc turbocharged motor with 7-speed automatic gearbox.

6. Tata Kite 5
The Kite 5 is actually a codename of the yet to be released subcompact sedan from Tata. While it is already lined up with the release of Tata Hexa, this one is a surprise package waiting to make an impact. The Kite 5 actually garnered a lot of positive reviews, the first time it was introduced in the 2016 Auto Expo.
The refreshing design of the car along with cool specifications and features made it one of the showstoppers of the event. The expected launch is somewhere in the mid of this year with a very competitive price point.

7. Nissan X-Trail Hybrid
Introduced at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Nissan X-Trail Hybrid is releasing at the earliest in 2017. The X-Trail Hybrid is built on a new CMF-C platform which has way more features and value additions than previous Nissan cars. This SUV car will have a 5 seater layout and will have a 2.0-litre engine that gives 142bhp and 200Nm of Torque.
The car will come with all specifications as listed in its unveil at the Auto Expo. There will be a premium price tag on the vehicle.

8. Chevrolet Beat Facelift
Introduced back in 2011, the original Chevrolet hatchback is getting a renovation and hitting markets as Chevrolet Beat Facelift. The cosmetics will be revised on the latest car and the hatchback is all set to get a fresh lease of life in 2017.
The Chevrolet Beat Facelift will come with a 5-speed manual gearbox and many other added features. It will be competing directly with Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Wagon R, Renault Kwid, Hyundai i10 and the Tata Tiago.

9. Mercedes-Benz New E-Class
The luxury segment has still not gone out of fashion. After Audi and BMW began eating a chunk of the market, it is time for Mercedes-Benz to claim its lost flavor. The manufacturer plans to do that with the New E-Class luxury sedan.
The car is expected to get a 2143cc turbo-diesel engine with 190bhp and 400Nm of torque. The New E-Class will clash head-on with the BMW 5 Series, the Audi A6, and the new generation Jaguar XF. The release is set to be around April 2017.

10. New Gen-Hyundai Verna
The Verna from Hyundai is about to get a big uplift in 2017 with the newly launched version that is about to be unveiled. The new generation Verna will be more angular and bear the resemblance of the Elantra from Hyundai.
Many other features are expected to come along with the new Verna and this will include auto climate control, sunroof, and push button start. The transmission options will include 6-speed manual and automatic. The new generation Hyundai Verna is expected to release in mid-2017.
