One Plus 8 is a successor to the One Plus 7T Pro Model. When OnePlus announced the 7T Pro Model, there seemed not much could be improved to this all-rounder phone. But here we go, OnePlus has come up with the latest eight series with much better performance and enhanced features, primarily the 5G support and a new stunning design.
The OnePlus 8 boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, an upgrade from OnePlus 7T's Snapdragon 855 Plus making it one of the fastest phones in the market today. What's surprising about the phone is that it does not heat up while delivering high performances, something of particular advantage to heavy users and 3D gamers. OnePlus 8 comes with 12GB of RAM with variants of 128 GB and 256 GB of storage available for a difference of Rs.3000. The balanced stereo speakers on the phone allow for an enjoyable experience with games and movies. The OxygenOS based on Android 10 provides with a clean and efficient user interface and free from bloatware.
OnePlus is known for its minimalistic design philosophy and carries the same tradition into the latest OnePlus 8. The phone is surprisingly comfortable to hold even with one hand though it carries a bigger display.
The display is the life of any smartphone and it can be safely said that the OnePlus 8 has the best of displays for its price range. The 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 6.55 inch AMOLED display with sloping sides, Full HD Plus resolution, a 90 Hz refresh rate, and fun software features like night mode, reading mode, and the ability to enhance colours when playing videos makes the phone a special buy. The images and videos produced are clear and sharp, while the text is bold, smooth, and easy to read.
The Camera setup on OnePlus is more than satisfactory with an excellent main camera that offers depth and realism, the ultra-wide lens offers breath-taking panoramic shots, while the macro shooting lens captures intricate details with good clarity from a close-up as little as 2.5 cm. A special feature includes that the Portrait mode helps detect not just the human face but also that of pets and animals.
The OnePlus 8 boasts a decently big 4,300 mAh lithium-ion battery, with a great improvement from 3800 mAh in OnePlus 7T. The battery usually lasts for a day and a half with an average amount of usage and can survive up to 2 days with very light usage. The real upgrade lies with the charging solution - a Warp Charge 30T Tech, same as in OnePlus 7T, which takes around 70 minutes to top-up from zero.
