The popular sports goods retailer, Decathlon is aiming to increase focus on online business in Australia. This decision comes soon after it’s apprehension of growing consumer preference for shopping online. Currently, the brand has about 8% of its local sales online. The CEO of Decathlon expects this number to rise by more than 20% in the next five years. The company also plans to open its fifth local store in Moorabbin in October, and another one in Melbourne in the early 2020. The brand also mentioned that it is likely to open around 35 stores in Australia by 2026, but that would be balanced with online demand.
